LTeX Server adds grammar and spell checking to Markdown and LaTeX files, powered by the LTeX language server (a LanguageTool wrapper). It catches things a plain spell checker misses — subject/verb agreement, wrong-word confusions ("won" vs "one"), style rules — with suggested fixes.
Requirements
ltex-lsinstalled and on your Mac (e.g.brew install ltex-ls)- A Java runtime (
ltex-lsbundles its own launcher that locates one automatically)
Usage
LTeX Server runs automatically for any open .md/.markdown/.tex file — no manual invocation needed. Issues are underlined in the editor; hover to see the message, or select the underlined text and click the lightbulb (or Editor → Show Code Actions) for quick fixes.
Configuration
By default the extension looks for ltex-ls at the usual Homebrew locations (/opt/homebrew/bin/ltex-ls, /usr/local/bin/ltex-ls). To point it at a different install, open Extensions → Extension Library..., select LTeX Server's Settings tab, and set Language Server Path.
Support
This is a personal, best-effort project — no support is guaranteed. Bug reports are welcome via GitHub Issues.
